[SOLVED] Scandisk problem

The last two times I tried to run scan disk it stops in the middle. It says I have programs running at the same time but I don't. What's the problem? Robert

Hey R.Parham,

What OS are you using ?? Do you have anything running in the "back-ground" ? Have you tried scandisk in "safe-mode" ??

If you do control alt delete it will tell you everything you are running.

When you do C D A you can close everything but Explorer and Systray. Then try doing the scan disk again. If that doesn't work try turn off the auto updates while the scan disk is running.

The other problem might be a screen saver or if your computer is set to sleep. Turn those off too.

Nothing worked until I got turning off my wife's screen saver. Thanks for all the answers. Robert
