taskbar help needed!

i'm having a problem with my taskbar everytime i turn on my computer. when i turn it on you can't click on anything on the taskbar, it just beeps at you, even though using keyboard shortcuts still works and everything else seems to work fine.

i tried running system restore and that works until you turn the computer off again. in fact it even works when it says that it was unable to restore the computer to the previous settings, which seems strange.

i haven't got a clue whats wrong with it. can anyone help?

Well I used to have a problem with XP where every so often the task bar would just go dead, clicking start does nothing, the quick launch cant be resized, or sometimes clicking start would work but the programs folder would be empty. Had no idea what caused it, I don't need windows anymore so I don't know. I used to just end the explorer.exe task in task manager then start it again with file run (if it doesnt start automatically).

Not sure if thats the same problem as you, windows is just rubbish in general. I had those problems with classic start menu and theme btw, not the horrible resource hogging xp thing.
