Rep Power: 2 | Question - What is your opinion about WIndows XP x64 Hi Im using windows xp x64 and works pretty fine.
I installed that OS because I have a dual core processor and was looking better performarce.
If you use your computer to chat or some little job, I dont think you have to use x64, but if you work with design softwares and use more than 2 at same time, well x64 is a really good option.
Microsoft offers a free 3 months trial, so You can try before to buy.
If any of you has x64 please post your experiences with that OS.

Rep Power: 6 | Hi limainfinita,
Happy Holidays!
I read a review a while back about the x64. The author was kinda 50/50 in his assessment. In summary he wrote... The good: Supports 128GB of physical memory; offers the promise of speed boosts when coupled with matching 64-bit processors and software. The bad: Included apps Outlook Express and Windows Media Player remain 32-bit; even Windows Update service must be accessed using 32-bit Internet Explorer. The bottom line: Only software developers and high-end workstation users will see real benefits from Windows XP Professional x64 Edition; everyone else should stick with 32-bit Windows XP instead.
To read the full review follow this link.
Do you find his comments to be on target?
Lyte

Rep Power: 2 | a Little more about my experience:
I have a radio station and djs talk with listeners using msn mesenger.
now we have round 17 msn messenger and those messengers has to be opened to talk with all listenners.
My pc specs:
pentium D 3.0Ghz
1GB ram
80GB HDD
945gtp classic series intel motherboard.
I can perfect open 14 messengers without problems
more than 14 is possible but with problems ( my pc will turns slow)
well Always have problems with winamp, why?
for example, Im streaming and all is fine, Im talking with people and streaming music but as soon as I change a winamp option to talk, winamp crash.
and just winamp, the other programns run as well as beginning.
You can work with differents softwares and if something wrong happen, well Im pretty sure that you can fix that closing the particular software, is not usual that all OS crash.

Rep Power: 0 | Theres no reason to open 14 messeger. Just get the trillian.
My friend has x64 and I can say, that we will in the future go for it. It's sadly, because we need to change computers then, as those 32 bit computer won't be able to run the new programs. x64 is better and it's more reliable. But theres no really big differences between that and 32 bit. I guess we just need anyway to go to shop and buy it, after the programs will be developed for it. That will propably take some years, but will happen. |

I need to open all my radio station msn messengers because listeners want to talk with dj.
I will trying using trillian and see if is better than open 14 or 16 msn messengers.
about x64: if you like to do alot of things at same time, go to x64
