Windows - Adding Special Characters to a Windows Document

Special characters include the many symbols that occur in languages other than English, as well as copyright signs, trademark signs and so on. To do so you'll have to have the Character Map (see below) accessory installed on your computer. These directions presume that you're working on a document. Here goes...
  • Open the Character Map by going to Start--> Programs --> Accessories --> Windows System Tools --> Character Map.
  • Click on Fonts to select the font you want to use.
  • Find special character that you want to use --> click on it.
  • Click the Select button and an image of the character will appear in the text box above the Select button.
  • Click the Copy button and your character is now copied to the Clipboard.
  • Click Close.
  • Go to the document where you wanted the special character. Put your cursor at the spot where you want the character to appear and click Paste.

And there ya go!
