XP Pro Shutdown errors

Hi all,
I have encountered a problem when trying to shut down windows.
I get three errors appear on the screen -

1) sw:AcroRd 32.exe - Application error
2) End Program -sw Wait. Cannot end proram because it is waiting for a response from you.
3) dwwin.exe - DLL initation failed. This application failed to initialise because window tation is shutting down.

Can anyone tell me what is causing these errors to come up on shut down and how to repair this. I don't have any programs running when l shut down windows:unsure:  . I can close these error boxes and it will close, but l would like to fix whatever is happening.
Hope someone in the group can assist me.
Regards
Liz

Well, AcroRd 32.exe has to do with Adobe Acrobat Reader. Does this run in the background? If you're not sure you can check your Task Manager.

The dwwin.exe is part of "Microsoft Doctor Watson"... http://www.liutilities.com/products/...library/dwwin/ <--- I'm guessing this is having a problem because of the initial error with Adobe. Once the Adobe problem is fixed, this may resolve itself.

What's this word: "tation?"

Sorry Lyte,
"tation" should have been 'initiation' failed. And yes, AcroRd 32.exe is running in the background processes. Should l try to uninstall Reader (l have a new pc & Adobe Reader 7.0.8 came installed on it) , & reinstall.
Thanks for your response.

Hey Liz,

If Adobe came with the computer uninstalling can be a hassle. I got a Dell with half a dozen pre-installed software and getting off was a pain! I'd try installing it if I was certain I could install it back if that didn't fix the problem. Check out this link too...

You might want to go to Adobe's home page and see if there's an update or fix! There's a 7.0.8 available...

Do you also get any errors on startup? One of the latest windows update releases has screwed quite a few peoples pc up, mine included, if you get a message about svchost.exe on startup let me know, should be able to help

Same Exact Error Messages

Hi Liz,

I get EXACTLY the same 3 error messages on shutdown. Its nice to know its not me specifically.

Have you found anything since you first posted this ?

And no, I do not get any errors on start-up.

Help on this would be great if anyone knows.
