CPU Cooling Software

Again, I'm not really sure if this should be filed under software or hardware, so if you want to boot it down to hardware or somewhere else, go ahead.

I know there's tons of hardware around for keeping CPU's cool. But anyone know of any good CPU cooling software which actually works? I tried out a couple, and they gave me accurate stats, in terms of temperatures and fan speeds, but very little in terms of improvement. Besides, a lot of the links and companies seem to be defunct. Am I searching for something which is not being used nowadays?

In How do I Monitor CPU Temperature?, I recommend SpeedFan. It's still around and it's still free.

hmm , do you mean you want to cool your cpu using software. Well , I am worried , because , so far my sense is saying this ain't possible. All you need is good ventilation system , good sink , good fans and other hardware design based change. Does any software able to do this ? I am not sure.

well , I am using a special feature in AMD , it's called "cool n quiet" . This feature will let your power consumption be regulated according to works you are doing any instance. This not only helps you to reduce heat , it also helps you to consume less power [ I mean as a consequence of less power consumption , less heat is produced]
