Rep Power: 5 | The ones I know of are GAIM, Miranda, Psi, Admium and Trillian.
All of these except Trillian support Jabber, which is the protocol used by GTalk.
More information is at What is Instant Messaging? |

Rep Power: 3 | Trillian is a good one. I used it until recently. But for a newbie it somewhat appears a bit complex to use. |

Rep Power: 3 | Well, the ones that I've heard of are Trillian and GAIM.
I'm currently using GAIM now. It's a little buggy but its definitely worth it because its FREE! |

Rep Power: 3 | Another Trillian fan here. I found it to be super easy to set up, as well - the newest version, anyway. |

Rep Power: 3 | Im gonna have to say Trillian as well. I love all the cool skins and mods you can add to make it look pretty good. It's also pretty efficient.

Rep Power: 3 | I have used Trillian for several years now. About 3 or 4 months ago a friend of mine was testing out Gaim. I decided to give it a shot as well. It pretty much sucked.
We were talking about the recent announcement of Gaim 2.0 last night and we both said that there is no way, we are more than happy with Trillian.
Trillian works well for me with no issues. Gaim always had problems, at least for me. |

Rep Power: 0 | I use Trillian too, though I have to say I just started using it recently, but so far I love it. From what I've heard they are suppose to be working on support for google in the near future as well. |

Rep Power: 3 | IM compound I also recently downloaded Trillian, and I didn't find it complicated whatsoever. In fact, I don't know why I didn't think of that before. It's very easy to set up all of your messenger programs, and it's easy to use. I then deleted my IM programs to have just this one. So simply and easy! |
