I use Paint Shop Pro mostly. It is not as expensive as Photoshop and easier to use. I tried a demo of Photoshop and do not think it is that easy to get into.

I've heard about the GIMP, which users say is pretty comparable to Photoshop, and is free also.

I use GIMP, which pretty much (in my opinion) beats all graphics programs. Not only is it free, but there is so much you can do on it. It takes alittle time to learn all the features, but GIMP is one powerful program!

I'm using Photoshop also, but I am not too good at it. Still looking for many tutorials.

wait does all the people who prefer gimp over the paid software try the paid software? Cuz I wanna know if Gimp is better than like PS from a person who used both.

I'd think that people would go with PS over gimp if they had both. I heard that gimp does not have an intuitive interface.

I use Photoshop CS for my graphical program needs, I think it is the best one out there.

Paint shop pro would be okay if you are on a budget, but photoshop still does things better.

Paintshop pro or the GIMP is useful for those that don't want to get Photoshop.

I've never taken any classes, but I'm starting to read more about graphic design. Some of the stuff you can do these days is unbelieveable. I don't have Photoshop or anything, but I recently downloaded GIMP. I think that's by far the best value for your money (it's free!). It's a pretty decent program and although I'm still learning, I'm finding it easier to use. What would you guys say is the best graphic software for the dollar?

I guess it really just depends on what you use the programs for. If you're really into design and do it for work, then obviously you wanna look professional. GIMP has worked well for me, but I don't need extra features. If you want something else that's free, I was once recommended paintdotnet. It's not bad.

I guess I am not the only one that knows about Paint.NET . It is mainly an enhanced version of useless MS Paint and has many features similar to Photoshop. It is great for minor jobs, however, since it only supports a 32-bit color depth, Photoshop is still required.

Like most folk I use photoshop as well. I am not really into graphic design but find that it does everything I need. Pretty easy to use as well which is very important.
