Rep Power: 3 | Which IM do you prefer? I wanted to know how many hate MSN, I feel its not as nice as Yahoo Messenger.
Not to insult MSN, but I hate to install it. It starts up with Windows as a start up application, then as a windows service, and what not. It gives all vague information like the .NET service on your system fails to connect.
I wonder it beats the hell out of a total newbie thinking that a crucial part of his OS is not responding
Yahoo has nice cool features like offlines and voice chat with excellent quality. |

Rep Power: 6 | 90+% of my contacts are on AIM, so I am on AIM also.
I am currently using Trillian, but I will switch soon to something that supports Jabber. |

Rep Power: 3 | I use MSN most of the times. Sometimes I use Yahoo. MSN should support an Offline facility. It would make it more popular. As far as the IM market is concerned, Yahoo rules I think. Any crosstalks? |

Rep Power: 6 | I didn't like ICQ for two reasons:
1. I did not like having to remember an eight digit number to tell people how they could get ahold of me.
2. I received lots of spam messages on ICQ. |

Rep Power: 3 | Yahoo is the best IM, I feel.
The newer version has not only text offlines but also voice offlines. Someone can leave you a voice message which you can listen to, after you login. Isn't it nice!
Regarding ICQ, because of the number, there might have been many applications which can just generate a number and spam them! |

Anyone heard of Rediff Bol, the Rediff's solution to IM and its flop? |

Rep Power: 3 | I use MSN and Yahoo Messenger, there are better features with yahoo, but any disconnected users are easily detected with MSN. Thats one big advantage with MSN. |

Rep Power: 3 | I'm using AIM right now because everybody I know uses AIM. It wouldn't be fun to download a client and have no one to talk to. I did use Trillian and GAIM a while back to connect to MSN and Yahoo for a straggler that insists on using that service. I don't mind, though, I can "multi-connect" with those clients, so it's all good. AIM just released a new client not too long ago. |

Rep Power: 3 | I personally like YahooIM because they have an integrated chat room stuff.
Currently I'm using GAIM. It's very nice and cool, but some times it can be very BUGGY. |

Rep Power: 3 | I like AIM because all my friends have it. However, I use Trillian so I can run all the IM programs in one client. It works great. If all my friends didn't have AIM I would probably go with MSN, however Google has an IM thing that I wanna check out.

Rep Power: 3 | over those choices, I'd choose Yahoo! Sure it has a few glitches, but the others are just so.. lame? AIM has no webcam feature, the Smileys on MSN are weird, and what is Gtalk?
My fiance and I have been chatting over Yahoo! for 4 years, we tried finding a better IM program but never could. it's pretty much the best out there |

Never tried Yahoo or AIM. I have used ICQ in the past but that is dead now, nobody uses it anymore. |

Rep Power: 3 | Which Messenger is Best I use mostly Yahoo Messenger, only because my entire family uses it for means of communication on a regular basis. I also have used MSN Messenger, but no longer use it due to the fact I have no buddies on there. I recently installed AIM, and I'm finding it very easy to use. Hope this helps. |

Rep Power: 0 | My favorite is Yahoo Messenger, but I just recently downloaded Trillian and it is awesome.
You can use all the IM programs at once with just one program. It logs you into Yahoo, AIM, MSN and ICQ all at the same time and it keeps all your contacts organized. It even moves them over for you.
Then you can uninstall all the other programs and just use that one. It has all the same features as the other IMs too. |

Rep Power: 0 | gtalk is from Google. You use you Gmail account and you are able to chat with other gmail members. I liked it, but mostly all my friends have AIM, and not many of them have gmail (even though I give them the links the sign up).
Voted AIM. |
