Question about CD vs. DVD games

I was wondering if some one could tell me the difference between CD and DVD games? For instance, I'm going to buy Neverwinter Nights 2 but don't know if I should get the CD or DVD version of the game. What all kinds of things are different between them?

Usually the games are the same. The DVD versions are easier to install, because you don't have to switch discs as much. The CD versions are for people without DVD drives.
