Removing Zeno Search from startup

Several items made my way into my startup folder, but when I delete them, they somehow appear back in the startup folder on the next reboot! Any way I can remove them permanently?

You would have to first find out what keeps putting them back in your Startup folder.

What are these items? They sound like malware.

Ahh... your computer is infected with Zeno Search.

1. Reboot your PC
2. Press <F8> when your PC is booting to enter Safe Mode
3. Click the <Start> button
4. Click <Run>
5. Type `regedit`
6. Click <OK>
7. Inside the Registry editor, navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run

8. In the right pane find and delete the entry 'SysStart'. Record the path and filename that 'SysStart' points to.

9. In the right pane find and delete the following entries (or any values ended with random string such as "FI002" , "DO0605"):

"{1C-CC-C5-54-ZN} " = "c:\windows\system32\dwdsregt.exe FI002"
" {00-07-71-1C-ZN} " = "c:\windows\system32\rodsregm.exe DO0605"
"BrowserUpdateSched" = "C:\WINDOWS\system32\mwinpsaw.exe DRCA02"

10. Navigate to and delete the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall\Zeno

11. Delete all the files you noted in step 7
12. Reboot your PC

I was once infected by the Zeno stuff and ads kept popping up, I used a program called ewido anti-malware and the problem was solved.
