sound altering programs

What sound altering programs do you use? This is different from sound creation programs. I use Goldwave for altering and enhancing my sounds.

I use adobe audition (it was also known as like cool-something but adobe bought it i think). Works great, it can be used to change the pitch, shorten songs, and much mroe. pretty complex though and i haven't even scratched the surface yet.

The adobe audition you mentioned sounds nice, and has most of the features that Goldwave has.
