Travelmate 2700 Bios Flash Failure.

Hey guys,

Got a Travelmate 2700 with a bios miss-flash.

It gives 1 long beep and 2 short ones, by acer’s support website, it’s a defective bios.

My bios is a phoenix, and uses a UMA bios. I’ve tried a crisis disk recovery, but still nothing. With FN+ESC doesn’t do anything, but with FN+B gives 1 short beep, Bluetooth and wi-fi lights on, and stays there. Doesn’t read any drives, USB diskette drive or cd’s.

Is there a boot block jumper in the motherboard? Or a key combination?

Called acer support in my country, Portugal, but its terrible, so called UK. A lot better and more willing to help, but still no answer for my problem. As usual they said it was broken and requires a new motherboard. Several people have solved their similar problem whit the crisis disk creator, can i?

Even did a autoexe.bat :p

And btw, it's acer's fault, they got the wrong bios file in the windows pack.

If your BIOS is hosed there is nothing that you can do to fix it on a software level.

If you send it to Acer they should be able to replace the BIOS chip, but it will probably be easier for them just to replace the motherboard.
