DAP has more publicity than it is actually worth of. FlashGet with all the 10 jets started along with some optimized settings gives the best performance. It doesn't let other programs get all the bandwidth, MIRC also does a good deal of enhancement in download speed, but not as good as FlashGet and also it is only for IRC networks.

DAP is a download manager which can resume/pause downloads and it accelerates your download speeds to above 300%. BulletProof FTP is a good FTP Server. What about SMTP servers? are there any free ones?

VLC Player is good, Zoom is again good. Music Match is a good music player too. Flashget is the best download manager.

And Flash FXP is the best FTP client
You should also add SmartFTP under the FTP section too as it is a free alternative to the others.
