Ad Hoc Connection

Is there anyway I could set up a connection (small network) between 2 computers using wifi network? The purpose is to share files.
In this case the WLAN access point act as the medium between those computers.
If it is possible, could you guys tell me how to set up the network? I mean the step by step instruction.

I am using 2 laptops, win XP, intel wireless card (onboard).

Yes, this is very possible.

I doubt that anyone will create step-by-step instructions just for you, but you are in luck, because Microsoft already publishes a document showing you how to set up an ad-hoc Wi-Fi network.
