My wireless isnt working

I have a new laptop with wireless capabilties and I have installed all drivers the laptop maker gave me, as well as windows updates.
Im still getting an undetected PCI device and my wireless isnt detecting any networks so i assume that PCI driver is related to it.

How can I get wireless to work?

Hey Ronald,
Welcome to PC101 !!

Could you provide "us" with a little more info ? What kind of OS (Operating System), are you using a "router", what "brand" of PCI device ??

A little more info would help all of us !!

Hey Ronald,

Welcome!

As Doc suggested, please do give us some more info about what you're running on your system. You might want to check and see if there are any NEW drivers or downloads for your hardware. Often there are new drivers/software that override whatever software disk that came with the hardware.

Looking for your follow up post!

Lyte

if you are missing drivers then Windows Update should auto download them which should fix that problem.
Chances are though your wireless IS working but not turned on. Do you have a button or anything on your laptop to activate wireless?

Also if you are running Windows Xp...

Sometimes I have had problems installing my drivers for my D link router, and adapter.

You may have to uninstall and reinstall the drivers.

Im not using a router or anything. Its just the laptop with inbuilt wireless.
im using XP and yes theres a button on the laptop that i can press to activate wireless.
When I press it it says "Wireless On" but even then I get a network unplugged error so I dont know....

What wireless company are you using? Have you contacted them?? I mean, if hardware and software are 100% then maybe the service is what's hosed.
