Question Problem accessing wireless network??

Hi

I'm a newbie to this forum and am not brilliant with networks etc so please help if you can.

Here is my problem. I have an acer laptop with integrated wireless and use it at 2 places, the first uses a BT router and the second a netgear d834g. All has been working fine until yesterday.

The computer is saying that it is connected to the wireless network with excellent strength etc, but i cannot connect to any web pages - nothing happens. So i tried to repair the network but got an error message telling me it had a problem clearing the ARP cache.

I came onto these forums yesterday and managed to clear the arp cache by following the instructions by Mr Spencer. when i type arp -a (or whatever the command was) the computer tells me that the arp cache is empty. However, i still cannot connect to the internet. If i type in an address normally it just comes up this page cannot be displayed, if i start it with http:// i get a message saying internet explorer could not open the search page.

I'm completely stumped, it's way outside my understanding. It's still telling me it can't clear the ARP cache when i try to repair the network and its the same result whatever wireless network i connect to. But if i plug the router directly into the lap top it works without a problem.

Please help, i use this computer to work from home so not only is it driving me mad, it's costing me money!

Any advice is massively appreciated!

Now that the ARP cache is clear, can you now attempt the Repair again?

What is the output of the IPCONFIG /ALL command?

Does it show IP Routing Enabled?
Does it show DHCP Enabled?
Does it show Autoconfiguration Enabled?
What IP address does it show for your wireless adapter?
What IP default gateway does it show for your wireless adapter?
Which DNS Servers does it show for your wireless adapter?
