Wireless Internet Providers

Hey y'all,

I'm hoping to get a lap top (maybe Christmas!) and will need someone to provide me with internet around the DFW area. Any recommendations?? I know there is WI-FI here and there but it's not throughout the metroplex and I'm not sure how reliable it is.

Who do you have cell service through?

With Verizon EVDO, we can get about 2Mb down and 700Kb up through our cell phones.

Or, you can get a PCMCIA card from Verizon and not tie up your cell phone.

And do you think that service will work with a laptop? I'm just not sure what service has the widest reach and most reliable service.

Oh yes, many folks I work with use their Verizon cell phones as EVDO modems for the laptops and they all have great things to say about it.

I keep not doing it because I'm not travelling much these days.
