For superstar super middleweight champ Laila Ali (23-0), “impossible” truly is nothing as she proved once again before some 14,000 spectators November 11 at Madison Square Garden in her title bout against challenger Shelley Burton (8-3-1). Ali retained her WBC title against Burton after busting Burton’s nose in the fourth round.
I don't see it as much of a contest though. Ali has had 23 fights (23-0) to Burton's 12 fights (8-3-1)... that's double the experience! I saw Ali covered up quite a bit and Burton never too advantage of it! Burton needs more uppercuts and body shots in her arsenal.
I give Burton props though for not being afraid and for keep going after Ali... as best she could!
