Note Taking
Does anyone have any suggestions on a good program that enables free note taking right on the desktop? I want to be more organized!

i googled stick notes for desktop but there are so many programs any reccommendations. no spyware please.

When I need a software recommendation like this, I go to SourceForge. SourceForge only lists free software, it ranks the software, it tells you how active the developers have been, and it shows you how many people have downloaded each application. SourceForge is almost unbeatable at recommending good software.

For this application, SourceForge seems to recommend:
Stickout

Desktop Sticky Notes with rich texts, extremely lightweight, attachments inside stickies, send/received stickies between users, Outlook, Word, Excel integration. Stick anything out of Outlook to Desktop as sticky note including mails, tasks, notes.

I just use the notes function in Opera but then the only place I really need to take notes from is the web
