Okay, this is gonna freak people out but I was just listening to Eddie Arnold. Yeah yeah... who the heck is that?! Well, he's a country singer who died today. And my dad used to wake up up to his music to go to school. I don't think I bought an alarm clock until I went to High School. Here's a link to one of the songs for which was most famous,
Make The World Go Away.

Mind you, I don't listen to this type of music everyday! It's just when I heard he died today (at 90 years old) I got kinda nostalgic.

Ha! I used to do metal back in the day - All the other Black folks thought I was crazy LOL...

I'm a bandgeek from waaaaay back - so I do love a lot of classical music and opera... I love some jazz too: Miles Davis, Coltrane, Joshua Redman, etc...

Right now I'm listening to Growing Up With Opera album - it's quite nice, contemplative and somber, relaxing mainly...

Kewl! If you're not too much of a Opera "purist" you might like The East Village Opera Company. This my favorite piece from them...

LOL - I'm an opera purist LOL - I'm actually a classically trained tubist.

So yes - I do like the classical interpretations mostly, though I do certainly appreciate the diversity within the music. Love the clip you posted but it is a bit more like pop rock of sorts.

It was a pleasure chatting with you this afternoon - you're AWESOME!
