I sent a PM through NP to you Lyte, this is a common security mistake by your host, just upload your index.php files again and the forum will be back to normal.

what happend was your host had/has shell_exec, passthru, system and dl enabled in php.ini, this enabled a hacker to use a shell scritp to modify kernal and get full root level access.

LOL, I pmed her too through NP. Might need to clear things up with your host, I don't know about you, but this isn't the hassle I'd want to bump into everynow and then.

Did anyone save a copy or pic of that hacked homepage? I had on cpanel but it's gone. I wanted to look at it more closely and maybe translate it.

Oh... and what's... http://www.pc101.com/index.php.bk <---- the BK part??

I'm looking at the cpanel ... looking for weird stuff and that's not familar!

it was bios team.... and it wasnt spanish it was portugese and it was just a bunch of political crap... and the image had prices for differnt hacking stuff like server takeovers, and such..... it was like one of those jokes.... bios team takeover priceless.... you know.... anyway glad to see that you are back up and running

I'd say there are a lot of similarities since both originated from Latin. I had a friend who knew Spanish and said learning Portugese was pretty easy because of it. They are much more similar than Spanish and French or Italian!
