well... sort of...
I was on the internet last night and all was fine! I wake up this morning and I have no internet. My ISP is Verizon and I'm running with FIOS. So, I check the connections, reboot the modem (twice), checked the box in the garage and nothing appears to be amiss!
I called Verizon, sat on hold for a few minutes and was finally connected to Matt. We ran though the usual stuff (which I had done) but then we had me log into safe mode. Oops... forgot about that option!

And sure enough, I was connected to the internet! So, Matt suggests it's probably my security software which likely updated overnight and then reset my security settings. It did! I took the security setting down a notch and voila... I'm back in business!
I'm a big believe of having your Window's software auto update, but I'm not so sure about non-windows software. I changed my avast! settings from auto update to "notify when updates are available."
