Comodo!!!!

Well to add to the free AV and Firewalls, Comodo, one the leading SSL company's, has released a full on security suite, for free. These are much better than any of the other free options (in my opinion), and even most of the paid. I have removed Norton 2007 from 5 PC's and installed this already, and its actually on par with Norton, but without the cost. The firewall and anti virus, have this neet little feature, if something seems suspicious to the programs, it will ask if you want to upload the file to there server so there techs can test it and check the code, and they will then release an update if the file is to be trusted or not to everyone who uses the product. And unlike some other firewalls, that have failed at the system, this ones learning system is actually very intelligent. It will make rules based on how you actually use programs that access the net, and not just based off pops asking if you want to allow or deny.

All the security you will need!
You can check them out here:

Comodo Firewall
Comodo Firewall, rated by PC Magazine Online as an Editor's Choice, constantly monitors and defends your PC from internet attacks. It's easy to install and use and passes the industry's most stringent firewall "leak" tests. Unlike some other 'free' firewalls, this is not a stripped down version but is the full, completely functional product. This free solution comes complete with continual updates that are free forever!

Comodo Anti-Malware
The Best to stop and remove *rootkits* in real time. Stop spambots, hijackers & keyloggers. Stop identity thieves from getting personal information. Instantly detects well over 1,000,000 unique, variant and repack malware in total.

Comodo AntiVirus
Eliminates Viruses, Worms and Trojans from Windows XP and Windows 2000 computers.

Features on-demand & on-access scanning, email scanning, process monitoring, worm blocking, full scheduling capabilities and more.

It's easy to install and configure; will not slow down your PC by hogging system resources and the full program is free for life to the end user.

Comodo Verification Engine
VerificationEngine anti-phishing and identity assurance tool for Microsoft Windows offers an extremely simple way to differentiate legitimate web sites from fraudulent ones. Place your mouse cursor over a site logo. If it is authentic, a green border will appear around your browser. So if you really wish to be sure you are looking at the real www.paypal.com site rather than a clever imitation created to steal your identity, install VerificationEngine now!

Comodo AntiSpam
Install Comodo AntiSpam for free and reclaim your inbox. Our powerful challenge-response technology authenticates the sender of every mail – a system that automated spam bots can’t get around. This is the full product, not stripped down ‘cripple ware’ and is free forever to the end user.

Comodo iVault
iVault saves time by providing instantaneous logins to any username/password secured web pages such as online banking and email account sites. It also doubles up as a 256 bit secure storage for private and confidential information such as credit card details and social security numbers and protects against the very latest key-logging Trojan Horse viruses.

Yes, its been around for quite some time now.
They were named Best Firewall of 2006 by PC Mag.

I have now converted all 31 Windows PC in our office to use there products now.

There many other reviews on google also, just search for either free firewalls, or comodo. From what I have found in google, they offer very good support for a free product also.

I'll have to give it try. My McAfee is about to expire and I'm not inclined to renew!

Well, I just install most of Comodo had to offer... anti-virus, firewall, spam guard... hmm, password protector... I think that's it. Let's see what happens... or doesn't happen, as it should be!

The one thing I wish was that they had everything in a "suite" type package so each one didn't have to be downloaded individually.

Well, I installed most everything they offered and it gave me a scare! All of sudden, I had no internet access! I actually had to approve iexplore.exe before it would allow me access. You'd think that would be one .exe it would recognize!

Anyway... we'll see how it goes.

The only thing I'm not liking about it so far is it's repeated prompts to approve the same dang thing... e.g. iexplore.exe Enough already! I said allow like 10 times AND I told it to remember my choice! Grr!
