| I have used Norton Internet Security for almost 2 years now and since i paid for a 2 year subscription last time around, I will be using it for 594 more days.
I like all the features Norton provides. However, a complete security solution has it's pros and cons. Many people hate Norton and all Symantec products because they try to be everything to everyone, and in the mean time take over every aspect of your system. Some people say that any product that tries to provide protection for so many things will fall short in some area. I believe this can be true for many programs, but i have been happy with Norton Internet Security.
Having said that, i do believe that it is entirely possible to have just as secure a system by using various programs that provide their own separate features. It all depends on how the user configures his system, and how he uses it. Practice good local security policies, don't click on every banner you see that promises a free iPod, and don't download attachments from the prince of some middle eastern country saying someone left 6.7 million dollars to you. lol. If you use common sense, have a good AV and spyware tools then most of the time you should be ok without paying the 50 bucks to Norton.
But it doesnt hurt to be safe... |
