I am already aware of it..
some say that it is illegal to use it coz it's for china residents.......
but one thing is kaspersky antivirus is resource hog and since i am having just 256 MB of RAM ,avast is a better alternative to me..

"Dodgy's" a good word I've not heard in a while! I'm not sure I'd want to risk it for Kasper.

Why have this for one year free, when you can have AVG forever for free? Also someone here said it may be illegal, so it's not worth trusting in my opinion.

IMO, Kaspersky is superior to AVG. However, AVG is good for the price, as is Avast and a couple others. Having said that, on the Internet you don't always get what you pay for, and as long as we have choices, there will be differences of opinion. I believe there is a thread already dedicated to AV preferences.

AVG is free. Well I have the free adition. Mine is good, I have no problems anymore because I have it. I just cannot see the point getting one that as rumored to be illegal when I have a pefectly working legal one.

That's all.

Yes, free...I did know that. It is not bad for free, as I mentioned, as well as a couple others. I prefer to pay for a better quality product is all I meant.

and yes, I agree, no point in risking your system security for a shady POS.

I was just refering to the free options. I actually had a 2007 anti virus I never installed it. It cost a lot. However I guess it just went to waste.
