Getting rid of aolsoftware.exe

Is there any way to get rid of the aolsoftware.exe task that I have in the Process Manager? It is annoying since it keeps popping up a box in the lower right corner asking if I want to upgrade, etc.

Go to <Start>, then <Run>, then type `MSCONFIG` and press enter.

Now, select the "Startup" tab.

Find AOLSOFTWARE.EXE and uncheck the box next to it.

Click <OK>.

Yeah, I do not like how AOL just puts things under your startup items without your confirmation

Uninstall AOL, aol software is evil.

btw....I am an AOL user, i've never touched the disc they sent me, I run AOL on Linux and Windows with no problems and have none of their software on my system and I never will install any either. It's a good ISP when you use it like I do.
