Spybot good?

Hi there

I have heard that spybot is involved with the marketing firms and sell your provacy and even lets viruses to be present in your computer so that they can sed your information back to the firms. Is it true?

I'm sure that's just a rumor because Spybot S & D is recommended again and again on anti-malware sites.

I serioulsy doubt that.
I have heard of small time companys doing this, but larger ones, no way, to risky for them.

But i have been hearing it again and again, it doesnt even work for me and i keep on trying it for removing all virii but not luck

Spybot isn't intended for viruses. It's designed to remove spyware/adware which is different from viruses.

Exactly, if you want to remove viruses, download AVG its a free virus scanner, works decent too.

That seems like a rumor to me. It is like anything you have just heard, it will stick with you. If I told you google was the biggest search engine around and you had never heard of it, you would start noticing google being said everywhere.(kinda a bad example but u get the pt.)
Adaware is good if you still have doubts on Spybot, I use both.
