Rep Power: 2 | Old School Games Of course, what is considered "old school" is in the eye of the beholder, no? (One kid told me once that he considered PS1 games to be retro-OUCH KID) But what games or gaming systems do you enjoy that are old school?
I have a SNES, Sega Saturn, and Nintendo 64. The SNES I still play reguarly. I also like to play some of the older PC games...text based games especially! |

Rep Power: 0 | Pong and Colecovision I can remember in the days before the Atari 2600 came out, my uncle bought Pong and I remember watching that monochrome screen and thinking, this is the coolest thing ever!
I have to also mention Colecovision - although it had one of the worst game controllers that were ever made, they sure had some cool games out at the time. This was the system that most Atari 2600 owners envied.

Rep Power: 2 | Whoa, some of you are *very* old school. *claps*
You know, I used to play Commodore 64 games when I was realllly little, like 4 or 5 or so. I don't remember them very well, though. There were educational games and fun games. My parents tried to give me all educational, but I ended up playing like, dad's games too. |

Rep Power: 3 | true old school how many can remember the excitement of the first ever pause button. that enabled you to pause the game while you went to bed, and school the next day, then continue playing when you got home.
lets not forget the nintendo light gun, with the oh so popular duck hunt. you could shoot the dog. that was an interactive invironment.
and now kids complain about how hard games are, they have to keep loading their "save points" because they keep dying. in my day i had 3 lives to last the next 8 hours. if i screwed up, well you guessed it. start over. YES FROMTHE BEGINNING
the game ginie. yeah. had find the code book that had some code like (wt244s6e2c), it gave you an extra life. that way you had 4 lives.
lets not for get blowing the dust off the games and inside of the console to make it work. an at least 20% of the time the games froze.
and you know if you are a true old school gamer if you have beaten tetris. yes you heard me. i beat tetris. granted it was "tetris worlds" on the ps2. but i still beet tetris. how many people can say that. |

Rep Power: 0 | NES "Zelda" "Genghis Kahn", "Uncharted Waters", SNES "PTO", "Genghis Kahn2"... stuff like that, where you start with a country or whatever and end up consuming your neighbors.
After SNES I played some puter games like Orion. All of the same type. I never did get into "doom" type stuff or action games, just too slow on the controller to ever win.
I havent played a game in 6-7 years now. No time for fun when it's time to earn...
Learn and try to Earn. What a life....
Peace,
Cyberian |

Don't remind me! If you owned those cartridges long enough, it seemed like you had to blow nearly every time. Er, or maybe my house was just dusty!
At least it's better than CD's. I spent nearly a half hour yesterday buffing the scratches from a CD. >< |
