I own this game and have loaded it onto my computer, but everytime I want to play it I have to have the CD in, why? If it's loaded onto the computer, shouldn't it just run off the computer? Does anyone know how to make it run this way?

That's a form of copy protection. The software manufacturer does that to make it more difficult for people to share software with their friends.

For popular games there are often no-cd cracks available in the dark alleys of the Internet.

It also allows the game to run faster since data can be loaded from both the CD and the hard drive. I tried to run SimCity 4 with a no-cd crack and it was really slow, but it ran fine with the CD in (might have been the crack though).

Im sure there is a way to get it all on your computer without loading the disk, but as Deuce said, it probably makes it run faster.
