I do not know of a Sims 2 No CD patch which has been released yet.

However, there is a good alternative to using No CD Patches. That alternative is to create a virtual CD drive and copy your original CD to that virtual drive. You will never have to put your physical CD into the drive again, because your "virtual" CD will always be in the drive.

Software packages which create virtual CD drives include:

Virtual CD - $39.95
VirtualDrive - $49.95
Virtual Drive Creator - Free (Basic) / $14.95 (Pro)
Game Jackal - $9.65 (Standard) / $17.65 (Pro)

So if we have lost or accidentally damaged our disks (the latter is my problem) and did not know to copy it to a virtual drive, we have to spend another $40 for the game?

Most software vendors will send you a replacement CD or DVD if you have a valid licence number.

A few times, I have downloaded software from P2P networls such as eMule to replace damaged media. This downloaded software worked fine with my valid licence. If you do this, be sure to scan the downloaded files for malware.
