the best search engine?

what is the best search engine to use? and whats so good about it?
i say google because loads of people have indexed their site there. the layout isn't confusing or over packed with ads etc etc.

My favourite search engine is Google by far. From what I understand Google has a load of features other than just being a search engine. For example if you type define: and then type a word it will give you a dictionary definition, I find this really handy.

Lots of google fans in here. Its the coolest yet best engine in terms of search. Nobody beats its results. I use google as often as I can. Love the features offered by google.

I cannot say a search engine is better than another since we all have our own opinions. But I do use Google most of the time since I got used to it. it's not always giving me relevant results, but I kinda got used to it and I know how to work with it to get better results in my searches

Google

I also say Google is the best search engine. Helpful, can choose preferences for myself etc.

Regards.

Google is my choice. Dogpile is said to be good though since it pulls from all the other search engines including google(Dunno how).

My vote still holds for Google . Just type in what your heart desires and the links magically appear.

Google. It's probably the best search engine to use as a user. Yahoo is quite good, but the problem is that Yahoo lists redirect URLs when it creates its SERP. So, your browser needs to make 2 http requests in order to visit a page. This really slows down loading speed.
