Firefox Plugins

I'm using FF and am having some problems with my plugins.
I tested them at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Testing_plugins and the ones that didn't work were:
the WMP plugin (WMV). I got a message saying can not create direct show player.

The Quicktime plugin- for video all I see is the quicktime logo with a question mark on it. It works for sound.

With the Active X plugin it says ActiveX is not installed or is not working properly or that it performes an illegal operation.

I decided to try and fix it by editing the download actions but the screen comes out blank. However, when I type about:plugins into my address bar I get a list of all of my plugins.

I have no idea what's going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would uninstall and reinstall DirectX. DirectX can be extremely fussy.

It also looks like you might benefit from some additional video codecs. I would start with the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack

The ActiveX issue could prove to be the most difficult to troubleshoot. The ActiveX plugin might require the latest patch to ActiveX, or it may be incompatible with it. What version of Firefox are you running? The ActiveX plugin only supports very specific versions of Firefix.
