Smile For the love or money?
Do you make websites/run forums for the enjoyment or for the money?

I run 3 sites - the forum being for leisure time, the website as a database for templates and the topsite an attempt for slight revenue.

I start all my website for enjoyment and a place for myself and friends... If I can't afford, I will then pull in Ads or else all my site are ads-free

I have only made like 20 bucks on designs and stuff. Mainly b/c I just do it for free. It's what I enjoy doin.

Some of my website are intend for fun and some of the website are for revenue. Then i link all the website to form a chain of network.

But seems like the maintainance part are kind of time consuming too sometimes.

I do webistes for interest. I've been setup some photo album and blogs etc for personal uses. Haven't thought of making money.

Kinda both!

I started buying domains for future money and then I realized if I didn't put something on the site I probably wasn't going to make very much. SO... I started building some websites and found it was FUN! It can be taxing on my brain and there's so much to learn but it's really rewarding to know I made something and there are people out there in the world using it! It's kinda neat!

Well...

I don't generate a heck of a lot of income! I'm hopeful though that in the future my sites will make me (at least) a few hundred dollars a month. I look at them as part of my retirement plan.

Well, on the long run I would love getting some money for my efforts, but so far I am just doing them because I love this. I have over 10 sites of my own and they are related to things I like talking about. I pay for the hosting (not that much anymore) and the entire work is done by myself. I have invested time and maybe in the future it will pay off.

I do it to make money. I don't dislike doing it certainly, but it's really my job; it's not exactly my hobby. Also I try to design sites to get a job done. I do not try to make it fancy or visually appealing. I certainly don't try to make it ugly, but ... making fancy schmancy site is not my priority.
