Temporary downloaded files saved in ?

Suppose you are downloading a big file. Sometimes , its worthy If you can be sure about what are you downloading by playing (for mp3s/video files specially) the temporary download files [ i mean in IE , you can't see the file until it's been full downloaded. So , it's saved in a temp location by process and after download completion it comes into the proper place]

Well , In IE6 I could easily reach that file in location

Code:
C:\Documents and Settings\Root\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\content.ie5\arbitary folder
But Now I am running on IE7 and completely lost !

I am downloading a 50 MB file from Megaupload. After downloading 45 MB ( video file) , seems to me , download is actually stopped, though the download box is still open but with no progress in size.

would you please tell me the location where I can find those incomplete downloading files ?

Thanx in advance

Regards

What do you see when you:
  • Click the Tools menu
  • Click the Internet Options menu item
  • Click the General tab
  • In the Browsing History section, click Settings
  • Click View Files

Does that show you the file location?

Are they in C:\Documents and Settings\Root\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Low\ on your system?

Lightbulb

In IE7 you can find all the temp files just by typing "%temp%" in the Address Bar.

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files, should be the location of the files unless it is an installation file then you might want to look at the directory C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Installations. You can also look in C:\Temp, good luck on finding the file !

damn....

Its so easy . How could I be so dumb to miss this thing

Well , Ladies and gentleman , the solution is very easy.

The file does locate at "C:\Documents and Settings\Root\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\content.ie5\arbitary folder" location.

All you need to do is activate "Hide Protected Operating System Files (recommended)" from My computer -> tools -> Folder options -> View.

ahhhhhh...that's great !
