I got mine in the Summer of 2000. I remember being very overwhelmed, there was so much to learn! I finally learned to use the internet about 2 months later...I spent most of my time emailing everyone before that!  I think everyone goes through that "emailing" thing when they first get a computer! |

Rep Power: 3 | when I go my first computer the internet did not exist as it does today, back then it was just a military and university "thing" and email was, well, not for everyone, not many people had an ISP email. and those who did, hung out on BBS's, the first buliten boards. my dad used to run one called "The Yellow Rag" back then, you had to actually dial into someones phone number and access there computer. only two people were allowed on at one time. if you dialed up the pc and two people were already on, you would have to wait and listen to a busy singnal comming out of your 14.4k modem, lol, ah the good ol days!
by the way, my first pc was a 8088!

Rep Power: 3 | My first computer was a custom built MS DOS computer with the big 64 mb of RAM. I thought it was the coolest. Man, it was old. Just now scraped it.

Rep Power: 3 | anyone else remember trying to play old dos or win 3.11 games and having to use batch files, and edit your sys.ini and or use a boot disk to allocate the correct amount of mem for a game, man those days sucked, mainly need to do this for seirra games.

Rep Power: 0 | My first Computer was the good old 486. I also remember the memmaker command in MS-DOS, and remember working with doshell.  I got my first computer in 92 or 93 it was a long time ago.
