Rep Power: 0 | Bothering to learn? Okay, im 14, I have a career plan to be a Graphic Designer/Multimedia Designer of some sorts, im pretty good with Photoshop and I know basic HTML, but I don't know CSS or PHP and I was wondering, when I create a layout, it just sits there in my folder of work with no slicing or coding because well, straight up, I cant. I can do some slicing, but for IFRAME's im a
headless duck(yes, I know its usually chicken).
I'm told learning IFRAME's now is useless, should I follow this advice and go straight for the php include x="such&such" kind of website or should I learn the fundamentals of making a layout before getting that complicated?
Any advice, websites or software suggestions for learning is appreciated

Welcome!
I'm not familar with IFrames but when I fnally got satisified (somewhat) with my knowledge of plain o' html then PHP and CSS came along! I was like, what's that?! It appears to be the next thing!
I'm just now dipping my toe into learning PHP/CSS and it's not hard to grasp if you are familar with coding in general. That's not to suggest I know how to do any of yet but I imagine a young and eager learner like yourself will pick it up in not time!
Either way... it appears PHP/CSS is here to stay and popular. So... if for no other reason than that, I'd learn as much as I can to function in the area!
Good luck!
Lyte

Rep Power: 0 | Thanks for the warm welcome
I'll look into PHP & CSS next year and maybe next term(of school) because I start advanced IPT(Information Programming Technology) which they'll be teaching us Delphi & Visual Basic etc.. So that will give me a handle on the next level of programming/coding.
Thanks again,
Sam |

Rep Power: 0 | Sure, I'd be up for a project. I just have to check out how my school studies will be timed as with a schedule etc.. Because im an 'Accelerated Learner'(skipping year 10 work to do year 11 work) I get all the software/books early, so far I'm on track to getting my school licensed copy of Borland Delphi in about a week when school comes back & I get my book for Delphi on the first day so I'll skim through and see if I can find some sort of project for everyone to do
P.S- The smilies are awesome |

Rep Power: 0 | Haha, yeah, I suppose we should go for a layout because I doubt everyone would posess a license for Borland Delphi
^And yes, this has no purpose, it just looks cool. |

Rep Power: 2 | I absolutely love CSS, which when i make a webpage, i use a stylesheet and dont have to put the CSS code on every frame, its very useful.
PHP is totally different server-side scripting, its not as easy as i always thought it was, i too and just begining it, but from my experience, i am usually able to apply myself where nessecary to a PHP document.
