Drupal? Joomla?

I have been coming across these two terms. What are they actually?

It looks as if they are like phpBB, a CMS. Any idea?

How about Mambo? I tried my hand once or twice to make a website, but it was a disaster. I couldn't get at least one step ahead.

Both are CMS's, I think.

Are there any CMS's written in JSP or ASP.NET?

They are both CMS's.

Joomla is actually the new version of Mambo.

I like Drupal the best; it's the easiest to use and easy to customize.

I dont know of a CMS written in ASP.Net, but I'm sure there are some

Wikipedia maintains an extensive List of Content Management Systems.

I tried plone and found it to be very nice, but in the end I decided to continue to code HTML by hand.

The ASP-CMS Project and QuikCMS are both Content Management Systems which support ASP.

JSPWiki is a CMS which supports JSP.

I find these really hard to use, even the so called simple ones still require a high level of coding to customize the software.

I also choose just to hand code sites, seems to be alot quicker then messing around with CMS's

I really like Drupal as a content management system better. Joomla is too cluttered and harder to customize than Drupal. Then again, when I first started using Drupal, I couldn't really understand it for the first few days, but it just started to come to me. I used Joomla one time. Even though it seems very simple in its interface, it's very cluttery in my opinion.
