Java - Is JSP Not A Web Development Lang. Why Is It So Uncommon?
Well we have seen php,asp etc dominate with max websites but in few sites like Sun.com etc i saw jsp of java is being used. Why js is not so common. If some body has a link of web development in JSP please post here. JSP is mostly used in companies for their automation systems(web apps) like payroll etc. There jsp is best.

I'm not familiar with JSP... how's it different and/or the same to Java?

It has everything of java plus few more things that are needed for web based applications. it's most used for web apps but nver seen being used for websites.

JSP, is most commonly used by Windows Applications for dynamic sites. JSP is not as simple as Java or PHP or ASP, it takes a little more time to get the hang of, at least it did for me. Its mainly only used for large projects to collaborate ASP, PHP and Java. Its also not very common on linux due to the lack of JSP developers for standard hosting.
