Rep Power: 6 | Site Promotion – Why Article Marketing Should Be the Backbone of Your Site Promotion Site Promotion – Why Article Marketing Should Be the Backbone of Your Site Promotion Efforts by Sean Mize When I first got started in internet marketing, I got involved in all kinds of traffic. Exit traffic, expired domain traffic, traffic exchange traffic, safelist traffic – all of it came with big promises and guarantees – but none delivered. I spent a lot of money there, just thinking that if I had enough traffic, I could win the game.
Well, I kind of stumbled on article marketing for traffic. You see, I had heard that article marketing was good for getting a high search engine ranking in the big search engines, so I started writing a few articles and posted them to like 100 different article directories. And in a few weeks, I had a number one ranking in several of the search engines for a few keywords.
The problem with those keywords, though, was that they were low volume keywords. My guess is that if they had been high volume keywords the strategy would be almost impossible. So the bottom line is, I wasn’t getting traffic from those keywords. A little, but not enough to go fulltime online!
But the craziest thing happened – I started testing groups of article directories, and finding that certain groups of directories pulled much higher responses – like 100 times the response of other groups. So I continued breaking them down into smaller and smaller groups until I came up with like a ‘big three’ and the results are phenomenal! I am getting as much response per article as I was submitting to 100 directories – so I have been able to take that free time and put it to use writing more articles. I challenge you to do the same thing – I think you will find that if you are only submitting to the ‘big three’ that your article marketing efforts will be much increased!

Rep Power: 2 | They only way that article marketing could work is if you are an awesome writer, who has enough time to write decent articles that people will want to read. But if this is the case, why not use the articles on your own site?
There is a difference between advertising with no content, and no advertising with great content. |

Rep Power: 6 | This is true! I wish I was one of those who could just write... and write... and write!! I try to write up a couple tutorials or similar each day but it still gets hard to keep up!

Rep Power: 2 | I've found that I can't find a good topic to write about. I'll sit down, reading to write, and not be able to think of anything! It's really frustrating. |

Rep Power: 2 | A lot of the time I have to wait for someone to tell me something interesting, like a submission, or a cool question in a random forum before I can even start. Tutorials are good because there is an exact way to go about things. |
