Starting wiki

Im thinking of starting a wiki.
but which software wud i use?
have anyone started a wiki? usefull tips wud help.

You mean like in Wikipedia?? No, I never thought to make one! I didn't even know this was something people did! Cool!

well. i haven't made it yet. Im still in the planning and testing stage. I have decided to use mediawiki. the software used by wikipedia and other wikimedia projects.
I actually never edited any wiki's before and now im gonna actually start my own wiki. :lol:
its tough, i think i have to incorporate some kind of wysiwyg to make writing easier.

I'm on the same boat. Never actually added to one, but want to make one now. Not sure on what yet, but it will come to me. Gotta learn how to set it up first .

iqbal, good luck with your wiki. I can't offer much advice, but you know, it's a good idea. I love going to user-created wikis. They've nearly replaced how-to books for me now.

this is too funny, I just helped a long time customer install mediawiki today, it looks very good compaired to the ones in fantastico.
