Fc5

Just installed the Fedora Core 5 iso onto the same HD as Vista. It works great and is a great improvement from 3 which I had over a yr ago. Also trying out Ubuntu as well. Anyone trying out any other flavors at the moment?

i wouldn't go that far oulzac lol. It's a good distro though. I'm using KDE right now with FC5 b/c mythTV is easier to configure in it. Gnome is also really good. I think they are both 50-50(KDE/Gnome that is).

I heard a rumor that SUSE was going to start going commercial, I think it's a rumor though.

they are going commercial, they just released SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10 wich is a paid version, but they will still release a non commercial version aswell. FC5 is basicly the same thing in a way, suse was based on red hat. The only thing I am not a fan of is gnome, for some reason I have never liked it on any desktop, especialy on ubuntu. if you want a fun experiance check out http://distrowatch.com/ and play with some of the not so populare distros.

I'm sure it would work under FC5, if you want me to figure out how, just let me know what the software was.

For you guys who like Unbuntu but like the KDE desktop you can always try Kubuntu, I have been using it on one of my desktops for a while now and so far so good!
