How do I flush the DNS cache in Linux?

I know in Windows that the command to flush the DNS cache is ipconfig /flushdns, but how do I flush the DNS cache in Linux?

All you need to do in order to flush the DNS cache in Linux is to restart the nscd daemon.

To easiest way to restart the nscd daemon is to use the command `/etc/rc.d/init.d/nscd restart`.

I don't think that it will, but I don't have a good test system here to play with right now.

DNS, oddly enough, can continue to run with no working network.
