New forum section idea

Where's the Linux and other OS areas? Windows isn't the only OS you know

I'm an old Unix geezer.

I've administered Esix System V R3.2, SCO Xenix, SCO Unix, SunOS 4.x, Solaris 2+, FreeBSD, Slackware Linux, RedHat Linux, AIX, and HP-UX. I've used a lot more Unixes than I've administered.

At one time, I was an AIX admin for IBM. I am also certified in Solaris and HP-UX. Most of my work is currently done under Red Hat Enterprise Linux, although I am switching back to FreeBSD as soon as is humanly possible.

The FAQ has a Unix section, but no Windows section. The Forum has a Windows section, but no Unix section. Isn't that incongruous?

No one seems to ask Unix questions.

But, I will create a Unix forum and we will see if we can make it popular!

I grew up using Unix/Linux, I'm a doofus when it comes to Windows. It still doesn't make sense to me when I'm trying to find things. I was wondering the same thing on why there's no forum, nice to see one!

Linux and Unix

Ahhhhhh, there's my answer, and that would probably be why I don't know much about it. I've only ever used Windows, and, personally, I'm not certain why I would ever want to use anything else. Enlighten me, someone, please?

Thats because everyone is scared of Unix
I was lucky enough to get experience using Unix at a job recently.
I really liked it, so much more control over what you want to do. It makes Windows look like a toy...

I'll try to ask alot of Unix questions here
