Ubuntu and an old ATi Mobility

Hey,

I currently have the new Ubuntu BETA installed on my IBM Thinkpad X31 and it runs fine, but does anyone know how to install the ATi drivers (either from ATi or through the pacakge manager)?

I keep getting a rediculous error abouit incompatiblities when I try and install it through Add/Remove and I get something (can get exact error when I get home later) about not wanting to install Xorg Core when I try through the Pacakge Manager.

Also Ubuntu doesn't seem to pick up the .run files from the ATi site...

Any ideas on how to install these *******s? I'm to used to Windows / Non-GUI based UNIX (so no graphics drivers needed). If you can help I'll be extremely grateful as it's the last thing I want to get sorted before I move my desktop over to Ubuntu.
