First, you should remove whatever it is they are complaining about -- unless you are absolutely 100% sure that you are legally in the right.

Then, you should do nothing. Anything you say can and will be used against you, so it is best to keep your mouth shut.

You don't need to talk to a lawyer, yet. However, don't talk to anyone before you talk to a lawyer. Use and protect your Constitutional right against self incrimination.

i got one of those notices back a few years ago from my isp, stating that i had illegally downloaded software and that my priveliges for internet usage would be revolked. now normally this would have concerned me, but guess which programs they toild me i had illegally downloaded

i sent them a letter back saying that none of these programs were illegal to download from the providers, and that they should pull their collected heads out of thier asses and start paying attention to the guy down the street who shows movies at his house the day after they come out. they never did disconnect me tho lol

please be aware tho, that if anything you " illegaly" downloaded was owned by lucasarts( starwars) george lucas himself will cut of your testicles and sautee then in butter with garlic, cause hes worse than metallica about his intilectuall rights being infringed upon
