Mostly, it has made distance seem almost irrelevant. I feel as close to my friends across the globe as I do to my friends across town.

Better off, no question.

Hell, price comparison engines alone go a long way to making my life better by enabling me to spend my money more wisely.

But really, it's the vast amount of information on the web and the amazing ease with which it can be accessed which has had the greatest effect on my life.

Sorry, but I have a probem with this one. You know, before Google came along, what I used to do when I wanted to do something was go buy a book, study hard, do some trial and error and generally speaking, get to know the subject matter before I actually made commercial use of it. Now, everyone is an expert on everything, simply because it's all there on the internet. Just copy and paste. But it makes you stupid, in the sense that at the end of the day, you haven't really learnt anything new. Just my 2 cents, of course.

When I was at IBM, we had a phrase to describe our life there, "Fat, Dumb, and Happy."

you wanna know how it has influenced our culture, do a search for " the internet is for porn" on youtube. its a video made with world of warcraft about how the internet is for porn, not things like information sharing, email, and communication....

I find that many people seem to have lost the art of conversation.
Possibly not online, they can type away to their hearts content,
but put a real person in front of them they don't seem to interact as well.

Sweeping generalisation I know, even though I love the net.
