CDMA coverage

How to calculate radius of BTS in CDMA 2000 1X sistem?
What assumtions must be used to determine coverage and radius in forward link? Thanks

A lot depends on topography and obstructions (e.g., buildings, hills, etc...) and on what type of antenna you connect to the BTS. In addition, you have to consider cables and connectors and all of the minutae that you normally have to work with when creating a link budget.

In rural environments with no significant obstructions, your radius will average 22km. This lowers to 20km for in-car use and 16.5km for in-building use.

Are you just curious, or do you actually have to create a link budget? And why only in the forward link?

CDMA Link Budget

The reverse link can be simply characterized using a link budget with
additional margin included for interference. Some people say that forward link is somewhat more complicated to analyze, and it does not lend itself easily to a simple RF link budget method. Is that true? Do we need some important assumtions?

RF link budgets are enormously complicated and error prone.

You might want to purchase a copy of CDMA2000 Evolution: System Concepts and Design Principles, just for the data in section 12.2:
12.2 CDMA2000 Coverage and Link Budget Analysis
12.2.1 IS2000 Reverse Link Budget Analysis
12.2.2 IS2000 Forward Link Budget Analysis
