DVR Camcorder: Downloading video to my PC

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1099387466515

I bought this DVR Camcorder and can not figure out how to transfer the video I have recorded to my PC.

I know I can transfer still pictures using a USB cable but that's not what I'm looking for.

Any advice?

Not sure if it will be the same, however my aunt has a similar camera, and the only way to digitally transfer the video is to use Firewire instead of USB. This will most likely require an addon card in your PC though (as firewire is not included as standard in most PC's). Your best bet is to check the manual to see if video via USB is possible.

You can also use what's called a break-out box to connect any device that outputs with component video (red white and yellow). You need to hook it up though and probably need a capture card so your computer can convert the signal back into digital.

Yes Firewire is faster than USB I believe?
Alot of devices offer both solutions though. I dont know any cameras etc that DONT have USB options :?

USB 2.0 is very slightly faster than FireWire.

USB 1.x gave USB a bad reputation for performance.

How fast is USB2 - 2Mbps?
Or am I totally wrong?

I never got into the whole Firewire thing - I have not used the port once and I've had this computer for 2 years
