The LG8300 does come with a very limited selection of
polyphonic ringtones, but I am thinking that if you were happy with those, you would not have created this thread.
Verizon attempts to force customers to pay for ringtones from Verizon's
Get It Now service.
With the LG8300, you should be able to transfer MP3's to the phone over via a data cable or the micro-SDCard. You should then be able to use those MP3's as ringtones.
There are also web sites where you can upload an MP3 and they will convert it to a ringtone and send it to your phone, but those websites normally charge a fee for that service.
One other issue is that the Verizon LG8300's will not play MP3's by default.
To configure a Verizon LG8300 to play MP3's:
- Press the <OK> button to access the main menu
- Press 0
- Enter all 0s for the service code
- Scroll down to "Music Settings"
- Select "MP3 Enable"
